Devyani Biswal, BSc Financial Mathematics and Economics 2016, was named uOttawa female Athlete of the Year for the 2015-16 season at an April Gee-Gees awards ceremony. In March, Ms Biswal won a historic gold medal in the CIS women’s 60m hurdles --- the first ever Gee-Gees medal in that event and a new Gee-Gees record --- at the CIS track and field championships. Ms. Biswal had previously won OUA bronze in both 2013 and 2015.
A star in the classroom as well, Ms. Biswal is graduating from the Honours BSc in Financial Mathematics and Economics this spring with high honours and will be continuing to the MSc program in Mathematics and Statistics under the supervision of Dr. Rafal Kulik this fall.
