The Damry Lab is interested in taking proteins beyond the natural context in which they have evolved. To further diversify the potential applications of these useful nanomachines, we are seeking to meld protein science with materials science and other branches of chemistry to produce innovative functional biosystems at the solid-liquid interface. Such biosystems include biocatalysts for polymer modification, degradation, and recycling, self-regenerating bioelectrochemical catalysts, and novel electrochemical biosensors.
