Mentors are students from the Faculty of Science who are trained to to help you with your transition to university. With their support, you will acquire efficient learning strategies, learn to mobilize the resources at your disposal and master problem solving as well as autonomy.

They offer personalized one-on-one meetings at the Mentoring Center, study groups for specific courses and skills development workshops to help you improve your academic performance.

The mentors have also been trained in mental health and are aware of the resources available for you.

The mentors can help you:

  • Acquire learning strategies and efficient study techniques
  • Reinforce your personal motivation
  • Improve your academic success
  • Set academic goals
  • Prepare a study plan for your exams
  • Learn to use time-management and stress-management tools

Study Groups

Need some extra help with your Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics or Physics course?

Student Academic Success Services (SASS), in collaboration with the Faculty of Science, is offering free study groups for students registered in the above-mentioned courses. 

These study groups will closely reflect the material learned in class each week and will give you an opportunity to work through problems that resemble evaluations and assignments.

A student mentor will lead the study groups.

TAO (Therapy Assistance Online)

TAO (Therapy Assistance Online) is a platform of tools and educational modules to help you learn about and change how you think and feel. TAO provides therapy to fit your schedule and lifestyle. TAO’s educational modules can be completed anytime and anywhere you have Internet access.
