Mentoring Centre

We’ve got you covered!

We’re students from the Faculty of Science here to help you make the transition to university and achieve your goals.

We know university can be challenging at times, but we can help you:

  • Set realistic goals
  • Develop effective learning strategies
  • Develop time and stress management skills
  • Learn to make a study schedule
  • Strengthen your personal motivation

We offer personalized meetingsstudy groups for specific science courses and skill development workshops to help you improve your academic performance and your student experience.

We also have mental health training and can point you to the resources that are available for you.

“Mentoring is a brain to pick, an ear to listen, and a push in the right direction.” – John C. Crosby (1859–1943), American politician

Study Groups

Need some extra help with your Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics or Physics course?

Student Academic Success Services (SASS), in collaboration with the Faculty of Science, is offering free study groups for students registered in the above-mentioned courses.

These study groups will closely reflect the material learned in class each week and will give you an opportunity to work through problems that resemble evaluations and assignments.

A student mentor will lead the study groups.

Hope to see you there.

Registration

*The study groups won't be available during Study Week (October 14-18, 2019)

Workshops

Our mentor students offer a variety of workshops that can help you improve your academic and personal skills. Intended to guide you through your time at university and beyond, they cover a wide variety of topics.
