Kirill Zaynullin named Faculty of Science Researcher of the Year 2015-16

Professor of Algebra Kirill Zaynullin was recently named Faculty of Science Researcher of the Year, for his innovative and far-reaching body of work on the cohomology of algebraic varieties. Cohomology is a relative new tool in the mathematics arsenal which allows one to integrate geometry and algebra (that is, visualization and calculation) at a profound level, and Professor Zaynullin’s work is a driving force.

To quote from the Dean’s letter, “Kirill Zaynullin is conducting game-changing research in pure mathematics at a world-class level.  Over the last decade his discoveries and advances have brought us ever closer to solutions of deep, longstanding problems in mathematics.”
