Research Interests:
I am interested primarily in applied probability with an emphasis on telecommunications. My recent work deals with the analysis of rare events such as buffer overflows in a network of queues. I have also considered overflows of an ATM switch driven by heterogeneous traffic sources. The asymptotic theory suggests methods for accelerating simulations of large systems. To put these methods into practice I undertake simulation projects using the C++ library Sims. Some of my projects are collaborations with local high tech companies.
I have secondary interests in nonparametric regression and quality control as well as the analysis of ion channels in cellular membranes.
